Mental Health and Wellbeing
We all have mental health. Mental health changes throughout life and often according to circumstances.
We are not simply mentally ill or well.
Looking after our mental health is as important as looking after our physical health. There are many challenges throughout adolescence and most young people do come through this period with relatively little difficulty.
Actively seek ways to nurture your wellbeing and, if you are not coping, ask for help from parents, school or some of the outside organisations in our wellbeing hub. You do not have to cope alone.
We recommend visiting Kooth, YoungMinds, Every Mind Matters, The Waiting Room and The Royal College of Psychiatrists (which also has useful information for both parents and students).
The Mix offers advice about counselling along with the opportunity to self refer for young people under the age of 25.
We want everyone in our school community to understand that mental health is a fundamental aspect of everyone's health and a priority for us all.
Please be aware that the information and links that we share here are not a substitute for professional help — seek medical, school, or spiritual support as it suits you, and ask for help and advice from the many charity organisations when you need to.
