Oxford Scientist 2024 Essay Competition
Students shortlisted in nationwide essay competition
Congratulations to Year 13 students Lexi, Samahir and Jessica for having their work shortlisted in the Oxford Scientist essay competition.
For the 2024 competition, the submission themes were: “Evolution: anything and everything from Survival to Free Will” or “Data and humans in the digital age.” Our students submitted the following essays:
Jessica: “Modern evolutionary examples of protective colouration”
Lexi: “Decoding the brain: the developments of AI in Alzheimer’s disease research”
Samahir: “The Dawn of AI in Oncology: Transforming Cancer Prediction, Diagnosis, and Prognosis”
This is a fantastic accomplishment, and both the student and the school should be incredibly proud, especially given that this success comes in a record-breaking year for submissions. This recognition will be invaluable for their personal statement and contribute significantly to their academic growth, as they are now published on the competition website and in a publication!
